Hockey club “Zemgale” started selling tickets for the Continental Cup 2nd round “C” group tournament organized by the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) in Jelgava (Latvia), where the Latvian champion team will meet the best clubs from Slovenia, Romania and Belgium.
The International Ice Hockey Federation’s Continental Cup is the second level ice hockey tournament for European clubs after the Champions Hockey League (CHL), which has held since 1997. The respective ice hockey federation of each country determines the participants of the tournament. Most of them are the champions of the previous season or the winners of the national cup.
From October 13 to 15, Jelgava Ice Hall will host the “C” group tournament of the second round of the Continental Cup, where Latvian champion team “Zemgale/LBTU”, Slovenian regular season winners “RST Pellet Celje”, Romanian champion team “CSM Corona Brasov” and Belgium’s “Liege Bulldogs”, last season’s “BeNe League” champions will compete against each other.
Visitors offered two types of tickets. “Tournament pass” is valid for all six matches during the competition. A “Day pass” is valid for two matches on a given date.
The price of the “Tournament pass” is 36 EUR. For children from 2 to 18 years – 18 EUR.
The price of the “Day pass” is 16 EUR. For children from 2 to 18 years – 8 EUR.
Admission is free for children under 2 years of age and “Zemgale/LBTU” season ticket holders.

The stage of the Continental Cup tournament will held in Jelgava for the first time. So far, the tournament has visited Latvia eleven times – Riga 6 times (1997, 2003, 2004, 2007, 2017, and 2018) and Liepaja 4 times (2000, 2002, 2008, and 2009).
The winner of the “C” group tournament will get the right to participate in the third round of the “E” group tournament. The four best teams of the third round (from the eight-team competition) will meet in the final tournament, the winner of which will get the right to compete in the highest level of European hockey clubs – the “Champions Hockey League”.
